We spoke with three educators from Aptakisic-Tripp School District to hear how Clicker has made a difference for their students - and for themselves.

Lauren Christ (AT Specialist), Monika Guzek (Speech Pathologist), and Candy Koenigs (Special Education Teacher) recognized that their students needed a wide range of support with writing, particularly with generating ideas, grammar and spelling. They also aimed to help their students become more independent writers.

When asked, “What would you say to other schools considering Clicker for their students?” Lauren, Monika, and Candy highlighted four key points:

Student independence 

Clicker’s built-in support tools empower students to write with greater independence and confidence. For example, the Predictor suggests possible next words in a sentence, which improves writing flow, reduces the need for teacher prompts, and encourages students to self-edit their work. 

Customizable resources 

LearningGrids offers a wide range of ready-made resources that teachers can tailor to meet the needs of their students. Clicker Boards have been useful for group brainstorming. Students can generate ideas together and then quickly export them to the Document to create a personalized Word Bank for use on their own devices. 

The ability to add scaffolded supports to Sentence Sets, such as Guided Access, ensures that students of all abilities have access to the curriculum.

Educators at Aptakisic-Tripp School District emphasized the importance of helping their students make meaningful connections with the curriculum. They especially value the ability to add visual support to the Clicker resources they create, calling it a powerful tool for engagement and understanding.
