If you’re using the app for the first time, you may need your Organization ID (eg org123456) and your 12-character Enrollment password - your Subscription Manager can find these in apps.cricksoft.com.
Run in your web browser
- Click on one of the links below to open the app in your browser:
Clicker Writer - https://clickerwriter.apps.cricksoft.com
Clicker Books - https://clickerbooks.apps.cricksoft.com
Clicker Talk - https://clickertalk.apps.cricksoft.com
- Log in with your Google or Microsoft account.
- If requested, enter your Organization ID and Enrollment password.
As the app starts you may see instructions for unblocking the sign-in popup. We recommend you do this to make starting the app even easier next time.
Install (optional)
With the app running in your web browser (see above), click the install icon in your browser’s address bar. (The icon usually includes a down-arrow or “+” and shows a tooltip when you hover over it.)
After you install the app, it will run in its own window and can be used when you are offline.
Managing users
If you are licensed by domain, all your domain users will have access.
If you are not licensed by domain:
- you can enroll users by adding their email addresses into apps.cricksoft.com OR
- users can enroll themselves by launching the app and entering your Organization ID + Enrollment Password, available from apps.cricksoft.com.
Network installation – Chromebook
- Sign into the Google Admin Console (admin.google.com) as an administrator and go to Chrome > Apps & extensions > Users & browsers.
- If you have a Flexi-subscription and don’t share your Google domain with other schools, select your domain. Otherwise, select the appropriate organization unit containing the relevant users.
- Choose Add by URL.
- Set Open website in to Separate Window, enter the app’s URL, and then click Save:
Clicker Writer - https://clickerwriter.apps.cricksoft.com
Clicker Books - https://clickerbooks.apps.cricksoft.com
Clicker Talk - https://clickertalk.apps.cricksoft.com
- Click the app’s Installation policy box and choose Force install + pin to Chrome OS taskbar.
Network deployment – Windows
For the time being, we recommend using Microsoft Intune to add the Clicker web apps to a managed favorites folder in Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 or later devices. This gives users straightforward access to the apps without installing them or creating desktop shortcuts.
Coming in December 2026: The Clicker apps will be available from the Microsoft Store as part of your subscription. Once installed from the Store, users will not need to log in, making this a better long-term option for classroom use.
Recommended option: add managed favorites
Before you begin, make sure you have permission to create and assign configuration profiles in the Microsoft Intune admin center.
- In the Microsoft Intune admin center, select Devices, then Manage devices and Configuration. Select Create, then New policy.
- Set Platform to Windows 10 and later and Profile type to Settings catalog. Select Create.
- Enter a suitable name for the policy, then select Next.
- Under Configuration settings, select Add settings. Search for Configure favorites, then select Microsoft Edge.
- Select Configure favorites, enable the setting and paste the configuration below into its value field.
[{"toplevel_name":"Clicker apps"},{"name":"Clicker Writer","url":"https://clickerwriter.apps.cricksoft.com/"},{"name":"Clicker Books","url":"https://clickerbooks.apps.cricksoft.com/"},{"name":"Clicker Talk","url":"https://clickertalk.apps.cricksoft.com/"}]
- On the Assignments page, select Add groups, then select the user or device group to which you want to assign the policy.
- Select Next, review the policy settings, then select Create.
- After the target devices have checked in with Intune, confirm on a test device that a managed Clicker apps folder appears in Microsoft Edge favorites and that each link opens the correct app.
Alternative option: install the web apps
Use this option only if your organization needs the apps to open in standalone Edge windows or requires desktop shortcuts before the Microsoft Store option is available. Users will still need to log in with Microsoft or Google.
- In the left-hand navigation pane, select Devices, then Manage devices and select Configuration. Click Create and then choose New policy.
- Configure the policy as follows:
- Platform: Windows 10 and later
- Profile type: Settings catalog
- Enter a suitable name for the policy.
- Under Configuration settings, select Add settings. Search for Web App, then select Microsoft Edge to display the available settings.
- Select Configure list of force-installed Web Apps, then enable URLs for Web Apps to be silently installed. The selected setting appears in the Configuration settings pane.
- In the URLs for Web Apps to be silently installed field, enter the script below:
[
{
"url": "https://clickerwriter.apps.cricksoft.com/",
"default_launch_container": "window",
"create_desktop_shortcut": true
},
{
"url": "https://clickerbooks.apps.cricksoft.com/",
"default_launch_container": "window",
"create_desktop_shortcut": true
},
{
"url": "https://clickertalk.apps.cricksoft.com/",
"default_launch_container": "window",
"create_desktop_shortcut": true
}
]
- On the Assignments page, select Add groups, then select the user or device group to which you want to assign the policy.
- Select Next, review the policy settings, then select Create to save and deploy the policy.
After the policy has been assigned and the target devices have checked in with Intune, confirm on a test device that all three web apps appear in Microsoft Edge and that their desktop shortcuts open the correct apps.
