In this update, we have released a new version of Clicker Desktop (Win / Mac) and Clicker Writer (iPad / Chromebook).
These updates are free for all Clicker subscribers:
Scroll down for a more detailed description of each of these changes.
A library of almost 10,000 Widgit Symbols is now included in Clicker Desktop and Clicker Writer.

When Picturizing the Document in Clicker Desktop, check the box next to Widgit Symbols in the ‘Picturize Document’ dialogue. Alternatively, alter which images are prioritised by moving libraries up or down the list.

In Clicker Writer, choose which library to use to Picturize from in the ‘Picture’ menu. If Picturizing words as they are typed into the Document, select your preferred library from the settings dialogue.

Add Widgit Symbols to Clicker Sets in edit mode. To do this in Clicker Desktop, select Picture Menu > Picturize. In the source tab, check the box next to Widgit Symbols, or alter which images are prioritised by moving libraries up or down the list.

In Clicker Writer, select which library to use from the ‘Picture’ menu in edit mode.

In both Clicker Writer and Clicker Desktop, you have the options to ‘apply to all grids’ and ‘ignore high frequency words’. Quickly swap between CrickPix and Widgit Symbols or remove all pictures in the ‘Picture’ menu in edit mode.
To add a symbol to an individual cell, select the cell and click on the ‘Picture’ icon. Search all your libraries or browse CrickPix or the Widgit Symbol library.

In Clicker Desktop, select Options > Pictures > Picturize. Check the boxes to Picturize Predictor suggestions and spelling suggestions. Select or alter your preferred library from the box below.

In Clicker Writer, select Settings > Pictures. Turn on ‘Picturize words in the predictor/spell checker’ and choose your preferred picture library from the drop-down menu.

When Picturizing, Clicker Writer will now recognise multiple words. For example, when Picturizing ‘ice cream van’, Clicker Writer will choose just one image, from either CrickPix or Widgit Symbols. This matches the Picturizing behaviour in Clicker Desktop.
If you’re installing for the first time, get your 20-character serial number - your Subscription Manager can find this in Subscription Management.
We recommend uninstalling all old Clicker versions first. If Windows Group Policy or SCCM was used to deploy Clicker previously, use the same method to uninstall it.
For multiple orphaned Clicker installations that can’t be uninstalled remotely, you can use our Uninstall Tool.
Alternatively, provide a UNC path to a non-hidden network share that your users have read / write access to.
The Home location can be changed by the user after installation.
Follow the instructions above to generate a custom MSI package. Use the RM Package Builder to install it on a single client. This will generate a CC4 package, which you can then deploy to other clients.
If you deploy a system image containing Clicker, it will require activation on each computer:
Alternatively, provide a UNC path to a non-hidden network share that your users have read / write access to.
The Home location can be changed by the user after installation.
Activation doesn’t require elevated privileges and is simple enough to be performed by a user if necessary (a prompt appears on launch).
A Flexi subscription is required to use Clicker on a thin client / virtual desktop system.
If Clicker is used in a virtual environment without a Flexi subscription, activation will be unsuccessful.

Cloud storage is a folder on the internet that you can access from any device. You can open / save files to this folder just like any other. Saving a file using one device will automatically sync it to your other devices (e.g. save a file from a Windows PC and then open it on an iPad).
You can also make certain files / folders available to other people (on a read-only basis or with full editing control). These will then appear in their cloud storage for easy access.
If you don’t already have a cloud storage account, you can sign up to a free provider:
Download and install the provider's app:
This will create a folder on your computer that automatically syncs with your cloud storage.
Note: Windows PCs already have OneDrive and Macs already have iCloud.
The Home location in DocsPlus is the default when opening / saving files.
To change the Home location:
If you want easy access to your cloud storage without it being the default, follow the steps above but select Additional at Step 2.
If you don't see Explorer in the Options ribbon tab, please install the latest version of DocsPlus:
Most people are familiar with email, so it's a good way to share files every now and then.
For regular file sharing, consider using cloud storage instead.
If your computer is connected to your organisation's network, and your IT Support performed a network installation of DocsPlus, network file sharing should already be set up.
To check this:
If so, the Home location in DocsPlus Explorer is pointing to a folder on your organisation’s network.
Therefore, files saved in Home should appear in the same place on any computer (that has DocsPlus and is connected to the network).
If your computer is disconnected from your organisation's network (e.g. you've taken a laptop home), DocsPlus will detect this and Home will revert to a location on your computer:

You can use the AirDrop feature of your Mac to wirelessly exchange files with another Mac or an iPad.
Both devices must be within 9m (30ft) of each other, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on. The receiving device must have AirDrop set to Contacts Only or Everyone.
If you can't see the receiving device, please see Apple's guidance:
When the AirDrop notification appears, click Accept. Your Downloads folder will open. Double-click the received file to open it.
When the AirDrop notification appears, tap Accept, and then tap the relevant app name to open it.

When trying to print, you receive the following error message (even though printers are installed and usable in other programs):
No Printers could be found.
This may happen if a printer management service is used to control printing on your network.
Try printing in another program (or just connect to the printer without printing anything). This may trigger the printer management service to enable printing in DocsPlus.
If unsuccessful, choose a virtual PDF printer. This will save the printout as a PDF file instead of actually printing it. You can then open the PDF in another program (e.g. a PDF reader or web browser) and print from there.
Windows 11 comes with a Microsoft Print to PDF printer installed by default. Alternatively, others are available as a free download (e.g. CutePDF).
When launching DocsPlus, you receive one or more of the following error messages:
Cannot find 'MSVCP140.dll'. Please, re-install this application.
or
The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer.
or
DocsPlus has stopped working.
DocsPlus uses Visual C++ to run correctly. On rare occasions, these components don't register properly when during installation.
To resolve the problem, download and install the Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable from Microsoft:
DocsPlus should now launch correctly.
When typing in a cell or text box, the on-screen keyboard always appears (even if your device doesn't have a touch screen).
In rare circumstances, a computer may be detected as having a touch screen when it doesn’t (e.g. when using a SMART Board).
This causes our software to operate in “tablet mode” and display the on-screen keyboard whenever you input text.
